Bible in One Year Passages:
He was a member of the council, a good and righteous man, who had not consented to their decision and action; and he was looking for the kingdom of God. (vs. part of 50, and 51)
Even among the unbelieving men of the council who condemned Jesus to the cross, there was a righteous man who was looking for the kingdom of God. He did not go with the flow of the crowd but stood up for righteousness. Scripture acknowledges him by name.
God calls on his children (me) to stand out from the unbelieving world, "not to consent" to their direction and action, to seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness. I need to stand up for what is right is God's eyes and not go with the flow of the world.
God, I don't want to take the easy route. Help me to stand for what you stand for, no matter what opposition I may face. Help me when I deal with associates, help me when I deal with authority.
