Bible in One Year Passages:
Luke 21:9 And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end will not be at once."
The bible tells us often to not be afraid. Regarding the end times, Jesus tells us not to be terrified. To be sure, there will be many natural and man-made calamities but we cannot predict by that exactly when the end will be.
Discomfort and disruption is not what we seek. We want peace and harmony and to be well. Yet we will certainly experience increasing problems in the world. As we await with both anticipation and some trepidation for the end, we should have the confidence that God will not abandon us. Since I cannot know when the end will come, I must live each day to glorify God and to enjoy him. I will remember that Jesus came to give life and that he will come again to fulfill that promise for eternity.
Lord, help me to live this life as a sojourner and to remember that this life is not the end but the means. I want to depend on you for strength and confidence in the face of a world that continues to spiral toward end and destruction. Help me to be encouraged by other believers and to be an encouragement as well.
