PASTOR'S NOTE

Welcome to YNCC’s Life Journal! Psalm 1 describes a blessed person as the one who delights in the Scripture and meditates on it day and night (v. 2). The value of Life Journal is that it promotes reflective meditation on God’s Word rather than simply reading it. You interact with the living God as he speaks to you through the Scripture and you learn from him. At the same time, you reflect on what God has said, then respond and dialogue with him in prayer. The encounter is deeply personal and it results in spiritual vitality: “He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers” (v. 3). This is the transforming power of God’s Word when it is kept near to our hearts in reflective meditation.

That is why I am so excited about Life Journal. It is a wonderful tool to help you internalize God’s Word and experience intimacy with God. Also, it is a helpful way to stay spiritually connected with your friends, spouse, and church members by sharing your journal entries with them.
